Halloween is our dayA Poem by QuinnThe issues with being someone who doesn't dress conventionallyThe cats meowed at the rising moon The leaves crunched beneath our feet We went for a walk on Halloween Dressed all in black, this was our day Our long leather coats flapped behind us Our boots clomped on the ground It was late on Halloween Hand in hand, this was our day People no longer look People no longer stared We were just older kids on Halloween Having fun, this was our day Children ran up to us Children thought we were cool Parents didn’t mind on Halloween Because it was fun not a choice, this was our day The next day we went out The sun shining bright Out into town, day after Halloween Dressed all in black, just another day Heads turned in our directs Heads were turned by parents away We were now a disgrace, day after Halloween Back to how it normally is, just another day
