Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Quinn
"

I want to become a comedian but I can't right now because I'm too young.

"
Can't I just fast forward?
Skip to where I want to go?
Instead of just waiting
Waiting till I can

I know what I want to do
I know what I want to see
I know what I need to do
I know what I need to see

I'm ready
I know it
But I can't do it now
I can't and that's not fair

What if by waiting
I get bored
What if by waiting
I change my mind

I'm determined right now
But I can't go on today
I'm too young
So I have to stay at one

I want to be on that stage
I want to see them smile
I want to hold the sweaty mic
I want to hear them laugh

I have my routines sorted
I have where I need to go
I have my plan and action
I have my research done

I just want to start
Feel my feet on the stage
Be blinded by the lights
And tell them my story

I only want to be there
'cos it's helped me so much
They've all told me their stories their lives
Now I want to do the same in return

So I'll just have to continue waiting
I'll just have to improve my lines
I'll just have to rehearse my actions
I'll just have to wait more time.
