Seeking

Seeking

A Poem by StarlaFireDelta
"

Love is ageless

"
Who are we
at the end of the day/night?
We are of all just flesh and blood
We are but mere mortals
That's who we are my beloved ~
Everything else is of consequence
is of no distinction except that
you are Man and I am Woman
~a law of truth ~

"We are but mere mortals." That's a common but important phrase to use in this poem. Mortals make mistakes but they are also able and drawn like magnets to love when with the right person. I copied this poem in order to review it and I divided the poem into two stanzas, separating that line from the rest of the poem. The word "all" to me in the third line referred to everyone. But the fifth line changed the focus to just the two of you.

"You are a man and I'm a woman" is a clear reference to attraction, love, and human nature. And attraction between couples is only the start of a possible commitment.

A short critique would be the lines

Everything else is of consequence
is of no distinction except that

I would eliminate the word "is" in the first line.

Other than that, I hope my review was adequate enough for this fine poem.
