True to Life

True to Life

A Poem by StarlaFireDelta

Laying quiet in stills,
in baby mementos
My early ages remind me,
of  innocence ,  beauty and my vulnerability
toy horses race past on little carousels
Being the last ,  I guess I never really had a chance
so young ,  so alone ,  wanting attention
My  best friend  was only my reflection
A   home   full of  people why was it so quiet , so silent
Now in the present please do not post,
and pretend that you love me
travel me back then,
unlock the doors,
fall down the past portal
break open the windows
show me , yeah I see
the truth  of my yesterday

My childhood dreams
so well hidden
I cant even remember them

"All  that  I wanted "
"Who could I have been?"
Ohhh They say surrender
and give your  forgiveness
Remember memory  is so inconsistent
I'm pushing the limit
late to the gate
the race has yet started
I am just little afraid
that  fate lost its patience

Seems this one reflects a flashback and the wording is much the same as the first one I read... I like the break-up between the longer stanzas... gives the reader a time to pause and resumes with the rest of the verse... I believe you want to say this in the second to last line of the ending:

I am just little afraid

I am just a little afraid...
