The little Things

The little Things

A Poem by Starfruitanimal

Such little lies haunt such great spaces.

She said, she said

Little perils only temper our graces

She said.

Oh why, oh why

She could have lied.

The gravity of love is a stupendous bore.

She said, she said

We are loathing this providence hung on our door.

She said.

Oh why, oh why

She could have lied.

The heavy red petals are dissolving to dust

She said, she said

The highways thick and narrow only back roads we can trust.

She said.

Oh why, oh why

She could have lied.

Believe me, believe me

Deceive me, deceive me

The nature of my headaches

Can’t even equal all this heartache.

some fine features in this piece.
the third line is a smash!
the highways and back roads too often too true...

well done, well done
