#24 Beautiful Moon

#24 Beautiful Moon

A Poem by Atlas Jones
"

A wistful poem about stargazing. Moongazing? Who knows.

"

How does one describe such picturesque beauty

It seems impossible

But I am nothing if not one to try

To capture something with a million possible meanings

To try to describe infinite beauty for those whose don’t see it

Feels impossibly difficult

But it is a task I shall undertake nonetheless

The moon as I saw it was always nothing but it’s reflection

If I was ever able to examine it then I find myself looking away after with greater purpose

I could find inspiration and hope like never before

Unexplainable bouts of energy that I get from just looking at it sometimes

Beauty unmatched by the sun or any stars in the sky

Representing cycles and new beginnings

The eyes of the face on the moon look down and scoff at us for we are unable to comprehend it’s true worth from down here

Oh but the dreams our people have put into it too numerous to count

Always expecting but never being expected of

For the moon upon it’s perch with just it’s reflection can not and will not judge

No matter how much we may deserve it
