Young LoveA Poem by Larissa K. Charmit
Go to sleep, young love
In your bed of tears. Drift far, far away, young love To a place that can’t be reached by fears. This world’s nuance grows heavy and burdensome on your gentle wings. Go to where you belong wild, sweet, young thing. Tired is not the word, jaded perhaps To feel the constant strain of escaping worldly ego traps. It seems as though the world in which she resides Simply has no place for her. And she’ll always feel it, crippling her pride. Sometimes it doesn’t bother her, Yet other times.. The other times kill her. She has no business in the affairs of the simple minds Yet she craved to the luxury that it is to be blind, She craved the bliss of ignorance that graced their kind An oblivious peace of mind she would never find. But I ask you, Young love, to embrace your young wisdom That with it, brings the burden, blessing, and promise That you’ll never be like them. Not of this realm, maybe find a home on a comet.
