My Love

My Love

A Poem by Larissa K. Charmit

Why do you do this
To me,
To us,
To you?
I don't understand the insistence on mistrust.
All I want to do is focus on us.
Take my eyes and see the way I do,
There is so much beauty to be found between me and you.
I just want to focus,love,
On our love.
Let it prosper,
Let it flow.
Unquestioned,
Let it grow.

We are everything.

You see, this thing you do,
It belittles me.
It grips at my heart with relentless claws,
Unmercifully cruel.
You see, love,
I just want truth.
And I just want you.
It's all I yearn for.
Yet,
You doubt me with no reason
And say I play games.
But,
This game is of your construct.
And see, love,
In this game of yours,
There is no victory for you or I.
The sole object of the game is to destruct.
Lets leave before this game beats us both.
Drags our love to the ground.
Leaves us on our knees,
So pathetically pleading.
Speak not the words that make my heart bleed, love.
Instead,
Take my eyes, and seek the love I see, my love.
