Simplify

i want to simplify myself 

to become an easy, abstract thought 

something easy to swallow, and easier to love 

im tired of this raging, endless depth within me 

of reaching further and further to try and find the constellations 

that i've been promised i hold inside 

instead of blood and bones and marrow and stomach bile 

i feel i could be an ocean 

but there is no beauty in the monsters beneath my surface 

i want to love myself 

but i don't remember what that feels like 

to believe that my body is a temple 

instead of a crime scene
