A PrayerA Poem by TheWriterLord hear my prayer, To you I seek, To keep safe my love, Tonight I weep. For he is where they do not care, In your hands, Let his soul be there.
God keep him out of harm's way, I’m only one little person, There isn’t much I can do or say. He’s one of your children, As are we all, Wrap him in strength, Help him stand tall. Grant him faith, Bestow on him wisdom, Help make short The time to come.
Watch over him Lord, I plead in my prayer, I cannot help him now, I can’t be there. If possible, This option I bare, Release him from Hell, In his place put me there.
Shield his eyes so he won’t see, The worry that has fallen upon me. Let him know my heart waits here, Until the time when he is near.
But if to you I ask too much, Give us hope, A helpful crutch.
Comfort his mother, Her heart is sore, Ease her fears, So she’ll cry no more. You gave him a loving family, He’s truly blessed, The sadness they feel, Help them repress.
Lord hear my prayer, I don’t ask for much, Just a soul to save, A family to touch.
