Falling

Falling

A Poem by Delilah Dunn

Written January 2009 for contest

"

Falling is like flying without wings
A single step begins a blissful descent
A swallowing up by the abyss of night and
Adrenaline's darkened euphoric glow

Within this blaze
This bewildering streak of sparkling gold
We reach out to touch the corners of
Each other's skin, illuminated

Aflame with all the passion of a newborn reverie
Like comets we soar across a velvet sky
And return to Earth--molten, moving, crashing
Ever-changed for our choice to take the leap

A very nicely written piece; I enjoyed it a lot.

One often wonders at epiphanies. Many see them as a summiting: but I often wonder if they aren't more like free falling to something...?

I look forward to reading more soon!
