Dimming

Dimming

A Poem by Delilah Dunn
"

Written Winter 2008

"

There is life indeed radiating
But from behind a darkened mirror
A dimly lit production of a joy that still should be
I am so sorry, love
That I cannot play pretend
I cannot fake a smile and act as something I am not
I am
tired and sad for reasons yet unknown
feeling stretched out and overthrown
and knowing I am all alone

I am
on my own

I can definitely emphathize with the feelings you expressed in this poem. I think we all have feelings that others don't always understand and sometimes its just beyond us to express why we feel the way we do. Having the understanding of those who don't demand reasons, but just lovingly accept you is a blessing. Unfortunately that's not how it always is and your poem really expressed that frustration.

this is dark & haunting & deeply sad. beautifully written. it's simple, yet has much power & truth in its words. we are all alone, in the end. i love it. the last 2 lines are amazing. beautiful write.
