On Inspiration...A Poem by Delilah DunnWritten Fall 2008My inspiration flows In golden droplets from clouds of love; Lessons learned in early days from gentle hands And firm beliefs. It flows like a river's lullaby From generous family and friends whose outstretched hands Expect only mutual affection and no reward. My inspiration grows With pitter-patters of tiny paws, dog-hair coated clothing, and endless kisses from loving little pink tongues. It grows abundantly From the depths of dim-lit nights-- Dreamily warmed by a dying fire; Secrets and smiles entwined in a glowing embrace. My inspiration lifts the powerful yet delicate wings of a soul whose oxygen is music and sunset and light. It is around and not of myself; breathing color and wind into black and white sails. © 2008 Delilah DunnAuthor's Note
