When Glide awoke, Icarcti was searching around the room they shared, looking mildly frustrated. The Varixian propped himself up on his elbows, watching the young bat for a moment before speaking. "Lookin' for something, Iccy?"
Icarcti nodded. "My goggles are gone." He replied, looking underneath the bed.
"How'd you lose 'em?" Glide asked. "Don't you put 'em in the exact same place each time you take 'em off?"
"I always set them on the nightstand," Icarcti said, "but they're not there."
Glide rolled off the bed, opening the closet and grabbing a pair of his pants, slipping into them. "I guess now's as good a time as any to give you a gift." He said. "Come here for a second."
Icarcti approached Glide, standing beside the Varixian and looking into the closet. "Okay, what do you plan to give me?"
Glide nudged a box out of the closet with his hindpaw. "Go ahead and open it." He grinned, pulling on a white long-sleeve shirt, then a black T-shirt over it.
Icarcti crouched down, lifting the lid off the box and looking inside. Sitting within the box was a set of black goggles similar to the pair he lost, though his pair didn't bear the symbol that the ones in the box did; a single blue bat wing, wrapped around a white horn. The bat boy lifted the goggles out of the box, slightly surprised to find that they were heavier than his own pair. He pulled them on, letting them rest atop his head until he felt he would need them, just as his own had.
"Like 'em?" Glide asked, wrapping an arm around Icarcti.
Icarcti nodded. "Thanks."
"My pleasure." Glide responded. "I just figured I'd get you a new pair, 'cause I have no idea how long you had those other ones."
"They're a bit heavy." Icarcti commented, raising a paw to adjust the goggles.
Glide nodded. "I know. Just try to ignore it."
Icarcti shrugged to himself, leaving the room, Glide following behind him.
