Therali knocked on Glide's door. "Glide, we've located the Ninth."

The door opened, Glide zipping up his fly as he exited the room. Icarcti followed him, pulling his tanktop back on.

"She's on Var." Therali said, handing the dossier to Glide.

Glide snatched the dossier, shoving it into one of the hammerspace pockets of his pants. "We'll take care of her." He said.

"Be careful. She's a b***h." Therali grinned.

Glide smirked. "If she wasn't, I'd be surprised."

"Let's go." Icarcti said, twirling his daggers and looking for the door to Var.

Glide nodded, leading Icarcti to the right door.

...

Fabian arrived on a strange planet, little more than a ball of black soil littered with the bones of great and terrible creatures. He could feel Kuro trembling.

"This place..." The plush murmured. "Where are we? It feels so... dead..."

Fabian nodded. "This is Reigox, the place where the dead gather. Limbo in planet form. Most vampires are drawn here by some strange force, and once they arrive... They face judgement. At least... that's the way it was in the stories of the past..."

"What is it now, then?" Kuro asked.

Fabian grasped the hilt of his blade, starting his search for his target, Kanno. "I don't know, but there doesn't seem to be anything to pass judgement on the vampires. Maybe they've turned the planet into a planet where they'll be safe from the Hunters."

Kuro went silent, deciding to force himself into a trance, to block out the strange planet's energy.

Fabian focused his energy into his blade, ready to attack at a moment's notice. He turned and opened the door of the building he'd arrived from, peering inside; it was dark, too dark to see. The perfect place for a vampire. He thought, shutting his eyes and stepping inside, letting his instincts take over.

Something shrieked from behind him, the door slamming shut and trapping him.

Fabian simply smirked, picking up the nearly silent sound of the vampire's footfalls and judging his direction and speed. After a moment, he drew, a loud cracking sound accompanying the wave of energy that shot from the blade as the Varixian swung, the sound shocking the vampire and the light of the energy allowing Fabian to see his face as the wave cut through him. The energy sliced the vampire in half, his body exploding into a shower of ash and embers as he died.

"Dean Kanno is dead." Fabian stated. He threw the dossier onto the vampire's ashes, the embers lighting it. He shoved his Nexus key into the lock of the door behind him, opening it and stepping through.
