Healing

Healing

"

This is completely the writing of my friend. Remember this when...remember this later.

"

Glide set Icarcti on his bed, then started digging around under it, eventually coming up with a first aid kit.

"Glide, that's not necessary." Icarcti said.

"Yes, it is." Glide replied, getting to work bandaging Icarcti's stomach. "You shouldn't use up your energy to heal yourself when you don't need to."

Icarcti rolled his eyes. "I'm telling you, it's not necessary. It doesn't even take that much energy to ice over my wounds."

"Dude, shut the f**k up." Glide muttered. "I wanna do something nice for you, don't f*****g nit-pick."

Icarcti blinked, not expecting Glide to say something like that to him. He nodded after a moment, allowing the Varixian to continue.

After a few minutes, Glide moved on to Icarcti's shoulder, examining the wound before starting to bandage it up. "You're lucky, y'know. He could've got you in the head."

Icarcti shook his head. "No, actually, he couldn't."

"Well, still." Glide said. "It could've been a lot worse."

Icarcti held his bandaged stomach, wincing a little. "This is kind of tight."

"Yeah, sorry." Glide responded, finishing with Icarcti's shoulder. "I'm not really used to this, the whole 'medic' role. Listen, you can get some sleep in here if you want."

Icarcti thought it over for a moment, then nodded, laying back on Glide's bed. "... Thanks."

"My pleasure." Glide replied, laying next to Icarcti, pulling the little bat close.

"You know that really wasn't necessary, right?" Icarcti asked.

Glide nodded. "I know."

"And you know I really could've just iced over my wounds and been healed in a few minutes, right?"

"I know." Glide said.

Icarcti yawned, nuzzling Glide's side. "Well, as long as you know." He murmured, dozing off.

...

When Icarcti awoke, Glide was already up, simply holding the little bat to him. "What time is it?"

Glide shrugged. "F**k if I know. Feels like it's about ten in the mornin'."

Icarcti stood, stretching languorously. "My wounds don't hurt anymore." He said, starting to remove the bandages.

Glide watched from the bed, his eyes widening when the bandages fell away; the wounds were gone. "Did you ice over your wounds during the night?"

"No..." Icarcti murmured, poking the area where the stomach wound was. "It feels weird, like something that wasn't meant to be used to heal me was used for just that purpose. I think you healed me in your sleep."

Glide grinned. "Wow, I'm gonna have to learn how to do that while I'm awake, it could come in handy."

Icarcti simply chuckled, shaking his head. He exited the room, already dressed for the next battle.
