"...Blackblood?" Eve asked. "As in, the Blackblood? Blackblood Maximum Security Correctional Compound?"

"Quintuple Maximum." Glide replied. "And yes."

Niqi smirked. "Where you stole that guard's shoes?"

"Warden." Glide said. "Also yes."

Micah facepalmed. "They're breaking out the inmates, aren't they...?"

Niqi's face became expressionless. "F**k! Then what are we doing here? We need to be there, by, like, yesterday." She grabbed her Nexus key and started for the nearest door.

...

Blackblood, while not normally a quiet and peaceful place, was horrifying by the time the group got there. A full-scale riot was in progress, the guards having more than a little trouble keeping the inmates at bay.

Johann was standing in the middle of the prison yard, shouting orders to his demon minions.

Glide drew his blade, approaching Johann. "You again?"

Johann stepped forward, drawing his sword, glaring at Glide. "I'm going to enjoy paying you back for breaking my jaw."

Glide smirked. "You're not gonna get the chance." He whistled sharply, getting Icarcti's attention. "Hey, Iccy! You wanna hear what this cockpolisher said about you?"

Johann paled. "Oh, s**t..."

"Tell me." Icarcti replied.

"He called you a 'tasty little necromancer b***h'." Glide said.

Icarcti narrowed his eyes, drawing his daggers. "I'll take this one."

Glide nodded. "Go ahead."

Johann smirked, pulling back the hammer hidden behind the sword's crossguard, pointing the blade at Icarcti. "Say goodnight, princess."

Icarcti twirled his daggers, darting forward to attack the larger bat.

Johann squeezed the trigger, the bullet grazing Icarcti's shoulder as the little bat jumped aside.

Icarcti snarled, throwing one of his daggers, the blade sinking into Johann's arm. "M**********r!"

Johann swung his blade as Icarcti charged him again, leaving a long, deep cut across the little bat's stomach.

Icarcti rolled back, sheathing his dagger and muttering a spell.

"Ooh, witchy!" Johann laughed. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I say 'witch'? I meant-"

Icarcti stepped forward, cutting Johann off with an uppercut. The larger bat stumbled back, then fell, unconscious. "'Witch' my a*s." Icarcti muttered, grabbing his other dagger and sliding it into its sheath. He grabbed Johann's sword, returning to Glide. "F*****g b*****d gives bats a bad name..."

"You okay, little dude?" Glide asked, looking genuinely concerned.

Icarcti nodded. "I'll be fine." He replied, handing Glide the sword in his paw. "Here, I have no use for this."

"Thanks." Glide said, tucking the sword into his belt and picking Icarcti up. He stepped through the open Nexus door.
