"

This is joint-written.

"

"Eve!" Niqi exclaimed, enveloping Eve in a hug.

"Oof. You're kind of defeating the purpose of this thing," Eve said, noting her umbrella and the fact that Niqi was drenched from the rain. She was smiling.

"Here," Niqi said, disregarding Eve's comment and handing her a Nexus key. "Keep that, you might need it. Welcome to the team."

...

"Welcome to Luoto," Niqi said, glancing up at the dark sky. The wind was blowing strongly. "What time is it?"

"Looks like 6PM. It's late fall." Eve fell into a more comfortable position. She was the most familiar with the planet, seeing as she was the only one who had ever set foot here. She glanced around at the horizon, spying a line of metal buildings in one direction. "That would be the entrance," she said, pointing.

"Here, take this." Glide said, shoving the poodlesword into Eve's paws, freeing his own. He picked Icarcti up, piggybacking the bat. "Let's move."

Eve took a step back at having the poodlesword shoved at her, and then examined it as she walked. She laughed hesitantly. "What is this?"

"It's poodlesword." Glide replied, staying at the front of the group. "That was hard as f**k to do, by the way."

Eve smiled. "Uh, congrats, then."

"Thanks." Glide grinned. "I take requests."

Micah glared at Glide's back. "Douchebag..." He grumbled.

Eve glanced between Glide and Micah, puzzled.

"Micah wants poodlesword," Niqi explained, grinning.

"Well, he can have it if he wants it, I suppose. I don't have a use for it," Eve replied. She held the sword out to Micah, the wrong way.

Micah blinked. "You're just givin' me poodlesword? What if you get into some kind of trouble?"

Eve glanced at the stub of sword-tip functioning as a tail. "I suppose it would work better than your average blunt object. And...I suppose we are breaking and entering. But when this is over, I'll let you have it."

"Thanks." Micah said. "I just hope there's no reason to use it."

...

"Hold on." Glide whispered. "Somebody's on guard duty over there. You guys want me to handle this?"

Niqi shrugged. "Go ahead. Don't kill him, if possible. They are innocents, after all."

Glide rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure, whatever." He paused to set Icarcti down, then turned to the little bat. "Dude, you mind if I, uh..."

Icarcti shook his head, offering Glide his paw. "Go ahead."

Glide grinned, grabbing Icarcti's paw. "Get ready..." He took a step forward, paused, then swung his arm toward the guard. "Crack the whip!" He yelled, releasing Icarcti's paw, sending the little bat rocketing into the guard.

Icarcti stood up and dusted himself off, then returned to the group. "Good aim."

Eve blinked. "Couldn't you have just punched him out?"

Niqi grinned. "There's so much you don't know yet."

Glide picked Icarcti up, piggybacking the bat again. "Come on, ladies, let's get inside before Rent-A-Cop wakes up."
