Pirate Expeditions

A Chapter by Star Catcher
"

This is completely the writing of my friend (with obvious Pirates of the Caribbean references).

"

"Thirty..." Ambree murmured. "There are thirty ships here. Which one are we supposed to pick?"

Niqi raised a paw, pointing out a large galleon. "I like that one. It looks big and powerful enough to strike fear into the hearts of pirates, so we won't be bothered while we're searching around for islands with bars."

"Who do you suppose the captain is?" Ambree asked, following Niqi down to the docks.

The wolf girl shrugged. "No idea. Does it really matter, though?"

"I guess not." Ambree laughed. "Let's go steal it."

...

Niqi smirked, leaning over the bow of the ship, watching the docks; the infuriated sailors were putting on quite a show. "You'll always remember this, as the day you almost caught-"

Ambree cut her off, dumping a bucket of water over the wolf girl's head.

"... Cap'n... Jack Sparrow..." Niqi finished quietly.

"Sorry." Ambree grinned. "I just couldn't help it."

Niqi scowled at her, arms crossed. "You think you're so funny, don't you?"

"Oh, absolutely." Ambree replied. "Why don't we check their maps and decide where we're headed?"

...

Niqi leaned over the map in front of her, examining it thoroughly. "Look." She said, tapping a small island on the map with a claw. "I'm pretty sure we left from the docks on the north side of that island, so we should be headed here first."

"It looks like there's a couple of little towns there." Ambree noted. "I'll bet at least one of them has a bar."

Niqi nodded. "Yeah. We'll probably find one of the others there."

...

After mooring their stolen ship in the small coastal town of Lys, Niqi and Ambree searched the town for a bar. "... I think that's it." Ambree stated, pointing toward a large building, the sign outside weather-beaten, the writing on it illegible.

"I think you're right." Niqi replied, grimacing. "Smells like expensive booze and cheap hookers..."

Ambree raised an eyebrow. "How do you know what a cheap hooker smells like?"

"A girl's gotta eat, and sometimes that's all that's on the menu." Niqi stated, starting toward the building.

Ambree rolled her eyes, following the wolf girl.
