This is completely the writing of my friend.

The imp boy groaned quietly, holding his bandaged stomach; the attack hadn't killed him, but it had certainly hurt him. "Damn her..." He hissed, tail slapping against the floor in anger. "How did she beat me so easily...?"

He laid back, sliding a claw into the bandages and cutting through them, exposing the wound. Acting with slow, steady movements, he drew his claw across the wound, forming an inverted cross on his stomach. Around the cross, he cut a large star, surrounding that with a circle. "With this willing mutilation of flesh and spilling of blood, I summon you..."

It was mere moments before his call was answered; a pillar of fire erupted from the floor, engulfing him. By the time the flames extinguished themselves, he was already unconscious.

...

Keris rolled over, coughing. "Rough healing, as usual..." He muttered, getting to his feet. "I do thank you for leaving the scar intact."

He glanced toward the door, spotting a pair of pants hanging from it. He grabbed them, taking a moment to slice a hole in the back before pulling them on, slipping his tail through the hole. Feeling oddly compelled to do so, he tucked his hand into one of the pockets, coming up with a headband. "So this is the game we're playing this time around..." He smirked, tying the headband on.

A small mirror appeared in front of him. He was pleasantly surprised when he looked into it; his reflection stared back at him, both eyes intact. He fluffed his hair up, hoisted the long bamboo staff from the floor, and headed out the door.

Outside, hanging from the branch of a thick, gnarled tree, was a blue scarf that seemed to call to him. As soon as he had removed it from the tree, it wrapped around his throat of its own accord. Deciding to test it, the imp boy flexed one of his clawed fingers. The scarf reacted, reaching forward and snapping in the air. The perfect weapon... Keris thought, breaking into a wide grin. "Now there's just one thing left to do..."
