"

This is completely the writing of my friend.

"

"You really surprise me sometimes." Glide commented, piggybacking his eldest son through one of Seisen's many forests. "Y'know that?"

Ricky nodded. "I know. I'm just trying my best."

"Your best is pretty damn good." Glide grinned. "You're a good kid."

Ricky sighed quietly, his mood suddenly beginning to spiral downward. "Why are we here, dad?"

Glide stopped walking, letting Ricky down. "We're here to talk."

"Male bonding, huh?" Ricky asked, sitting down on the ground. "... We're not gonna turn out like you and grandpa, are we?"

Glide shook his head. "I'd die before I let that happen."

Ricky looked down, starting to scrawl designs and drawings in the dirt. "So why do I get the feeling this is gonna end with some horrible news? Are you leaving or something?"

"No, of course not." Glide replied. "I wouldn't do that to you and your brothers."

"Sure, you say that now..." Ricky muttered.

Glide scowled. "Look, Ricky, I'm not going anywhere. I'm your father, and gods damn it, it's my job to keep you and your brothers safe. I would never just leave you guys hanging."

"So why the f**k did you drag me out here!?" Ricky snapped.

Glide sat down beside his son, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Is it so wrong for a father to wanna spend time with his son?"

"Only if he's thinking of doing something perverted." Ricky grinned, flicking Glide's ear.

"You really should smile more." Glide said. "You're pretty when you smile."

Ricky rolled his eyes. "You're flirting with me. Mind in the gutter."

Glide smirked, pulling Ricky into a headlock. "Sounds like you're the one with his mind in the gutter. You think I'd take you all the way out here just to take advantage of you? I could do that just as easily back at the house."

"Dad!" Ricky yelped, blushing. "That's totally not funny!"

"Doesn't mean it's not true." Glide replied, letting Ricky go and standing up. "Come on, we should start headin' home."

Ricky nodded, getting to his feet. "So we're not gonna end up hating each other one day?"

"No, we're not." Glide responded, cupping Ricky's chin and tilting the younger male's head up, pressing his lips to Ricky's own.

Ricky's eyes widened, the Varixian boy gaping at his father when he pulled away. "... What the..."

"By the way," Glide commented, almost casually, as he began to walk, "I'm thinking about becoming a stripper."

"Dad!"
