"Alright, f**k this..." Glide muttered, shouldering an imp over the catwalk's railing. "I'm sick and tired of these damn imps! Isn't there a different kind of demon they could've sent!? They don't even put up much of a fight!"

Niqi's eyes widened. She paled slightly, pointing behind Glide.

"... No no, don't tell me, let me guess." He raised a paw, counting off qualities as he listed them. "Big. Ugly. Scary. Armed. Looks about ready to try and kick my a*s."

Niqi nodded. "Yeah, looks that way..."

Glide growled, swinging his arm back and driving his elbow into the demon's crotch. "If I have to put up with one more new enemy, I swear to god, I'm gonna snap and murder everybody!"

A tall, gray-furred wolf strode past the group, walking into the mass of demons, shoving a few over the railing to their doom. "You guys need to leave before you get me mad."

Glide watched him, sure that he had seen the wolf somewhere before. Then, when the wolf struck an enormous demon in the face with a stiff right, the symbol on the sleeve of his cropped jacket was revealed and everything clicked into place in Glide's mind. "... Gatari?"

The wolf stopped, turning around. "Glide? Holy s**t, what happened to your fur?"

Glide shook his head. "It's a long story, I'll tell you later. Wait, if you're here, where's-"

Gatari held up a paw, a smirk on his face. "Look up."

Glide blinked, turning his gaze to the catwalk above.

A slim cabbit was hanging from the railing by his enormous ears, fighting a group of flying demons with a pair of daggers. "Wahoo! This is better than pro wrestling!" He squealed, hooking his legs around one of the demons and bucking his hips, slamming its head into the underside of the catwalk.

"Typical Yasya." Glide snickered. "You guys aware of what's going on?"

Gatari shrugged. "Just bits and pieces." He replied, delivering a right cross to a hoofed demon, leaving it open to a kick that sent it over the railing. "We know about the blackout and the demons, the stuff that's been going on in the past... man, am I glad this place is in its own little temporal pocket."

"Y'know, I'm actually surprised you two are still together." Glide commented, opening one of the Nexus doors and beginning to throw the imps' corpses through.

Gatari shrugged. "What can I say? He's my mate, I'm not gonna just up and ditch him."

"Makes sense, I guess." Glide said. "You guys get it done yet?"

Gatari shook his head. "Nah, we're waiting for summer on Miiri."

Glide nodded, going silent. Once the last of the imps were through the door, he slammed it and turned his gaze back to Gatari. "You guys happen to see an imp kid with one eye?"

"Sorry, dude. Haven't seen him." Gatari replied.

"I swear, I thought he was here. Zi'Ran thought that," Niqi said. "He's either hiding, or he slipped through one of the doors."

Glide suddenly broke into a wide grin. "Gatari... shut the lights off."

Gatari raised an eyebrow. "Why? That would only help him escape."

"Just do it." Glide muttered, raising a paw to grab his eyepatch. "I know what I'm doing."

Gatari hesitated for a moment, then removed a small remote from his pocket and hit a button, the Nexus' lights shutting off.

"I see you, you little prick!" Glide growled. "He went through Seisen's door."

"Isn't the planet still covered in toxic gas?" Niqi asked.

"No, 'Tani's sister worked her magic on it already." Therali responded. "It should be back to normal, just... empty."

Niqi nodded. "Alright, let's hurry up and catch that f****r, then."

"I think I'm going to stay behind... if that's okay," Ambree said, speaking for the first time in a long time.

"We understand." Glide said. "You're free to stay here."

"Thanks," Ambree replied. She smiled shakily, and then turned around, beginning to wander off to some other part of the Nexus.

"Don't get lost!" Yasya called after her.

Glide snickered. "Why don't you just ask the planets to stop turning?"

"Come on, people, let's go." Jessica said, heading for the door to Seisen, the rest of the group falling in line behind her.

"Oh yeah, he's definitely here." Glide said. "I can smell his fear. He's headed for the Northern Cross."

"Let's up the pace. The b*****d can't run forever," Niqi responded.

"Agreed." Glide replied. "Anybody wanna fight him, or can I?"

Jessica raised a paw. "I want to fight him."

"... And since you're my mother, I can't exactly refuse." Glide grinned.

Niqi raised an eyebrow. "You want to fight Keris? Why?"

"Well, along with how to get to the Hell dimension, the succubi told me who sent them." Jessica said. "Keris."

Niqi grinned. "Alright, you totally have dibs."
