"

This is completely the writing of my friend. Apparently, time started passing sporadically around this point.

"

"You're sure this'll work, right?" Niqi asked.

Fabian nodded, gripping the hilt of his sword. "I've abused space-time before, I know how it works."

"I'm not gonna tell you to be careful." Glide said, laying a paw on his brother's shoulder. "But you'd better not f**k this up."

"I just said I know how this kind of thing works." Fabian muttered. "You worry too much. I'll be back." He flashed his brother a grin, disappearing. He was gone a total of three seconds before returning. "Done and done."

Niqi raised an eyebrow. "That's it? That's all it took?"

"Of course." Fabian replied. "It only takes a while if you're staying to screw things up. You only need to show up before the other you screws things up to keep it from happening."

Ambree scratched her head. "I... don't quite get that."

"It's easy." Fabian stated. "If you've already screwed things up in time by going back and changing something, you need to go to at least half a second before you did that to fix it. Time sorta catches up to you, and you merge with the other you."

"That's weird as hell." Niqi commented, blinking a few times. "And not very confusing, strangely enough."

Therali smirked. "It's something we cooked up so idiots like the jackass twins over here could fix this kind of mistake easily."

"... You're a dick." Glide muttered, cuffing Therali on the jaw.

"You forgot 'smart'." Therali replied. "I'm a smart dick."

...

"Hey, Fay?" Glide asked, slinging an arm around his brother's shoulders. "This ain't easy for somebody like me to say, but... I'm sorry, man. For nearly whupping your a*s when I first saw you, callin' you a poser-goth punk... not sorry about busting your balls because of the make-up, though."

Fabian was silent for a long moment, lost in thought. Finally, he laid his head on Glide's shoulder. "It's fine. Just don't make another comment about it. The make-up is like a... a poker face, I guess. Most people notice it more than my actual expression..."

"Strange, ain't it?" Glide asked. "How we've gotten this close, this fast."

Fabian shrugged. "Not really. We're twins, I think it's natural."

"Probably." Glide nodded. "Since we're on the subject of your face, did you know your irises turned red when we squared off?"

"Happens sometimes, against strong opponents." Fabian said. "It's nothing to worry about if you and me don't get into a real fight."

And you damned well shouldn't be.
Guys+makeup=yum.

As long as the guy's attractive, that is.
