"Okay," Glide said, "not that that wasn't a cute little reunion, but there's the little matters of the ion cannon, Gase, Varixian slavery..."

"You have a son?" Niqi asked suddenly.

Shetani nodded. "Yes, I have a son. Up until now, I thought he was..."

"How in the hell...?" Niqi muttered, staring at Shetani as if she were a ghost.

"I never mentioned him because I thought he was... dead." Shetani murmured.

Niqi glanced down at Revan. "But obviously that's not the case," she stated.

"Of course not. Alive and well." Revan smiled.

"Who's the daddy?" Ambree asked, smirking.

"... Orochi." Shetani responded after a few seconds. "The elder god."

"Didn't know gods could have babies," Ambree said, mostly to herself.

Shetani chuckled. "It's complicated."

"Guys!" Glide barked, snapping his fingers. "Explanations can wait. We need to f*****g hurry, before anything else happens to f**k up this situation."

"Sorry, Nar'zun." Revan murmured. "Come on, I know the planet, I guess I'll have to lead the way..."

...

"This wasn't here when I left." Revan muttered, leading the group up to a hut in the middle of the forest. "Who do you think lives here?"

Glide shrugged. "I might as well check."

"Careful, Glide." Niqi said, leaning against a nearby tree. "Who knows what you'll find in there. If you need us-"

"Oh please." Glide scoffed. "Remember who you're talking to. I'll be fine."

Felix shot him a dirty look. "That's what you said when we went looking for Kalma, and we all remember how that turned out."

Glide sighed, rolling his eye. "Okay, okay, I'll be careful."

At the back of the group, unseen beneath the cowl of her robe, Shetani smiled. Well, isn't this a wonderful turn of events...

Glide pulled back the animal skin that covered the entrance of the small hut, entering alone; he didn't have much choice, given how tiny the building was. Inside, taking up nearly half of the room, was a black metal cauldron. Standing over it was a woman in a black robe, the cowl raised. "Little Myo." She purred. "I've been expecting you. You're late, but then again, you've never really been on time for anything, have you?"

Glide rolled his eye. "And you are?"

The woman waved a paw. "That's not important. I'm going to make you an offer."

"I don't swing that way." Glide stated, grinning. "Thanks, though."

"Not that kind of offer, you f*****g nitwit." The woman muttered. "Your eye. I can't return it to you, but I can give you a replacement. Something better... something that would fit a fiend as powerful as you."

"Did you say 'fiend'?" Glide asked. "Why the hell did you call me that?"

The woman reached out, grasping Glide's paw and tracing the design branded on the back of it. "The sigil of Lucifer. Only fiends and those fallen from grace bear this mark. It's not old, which means you're a fallen one."

"... Once..." Glide murmured. "But not anymore."

"I know." The woman said, releasing Glide's paw. "Now, back to the matter of replacing your eye."

Glide raised an eyebrow. "You can really do that?"

The woman nodded, reaching into the cauldron. "I can give you this." She said, pulling an eye out of the cauldron.

Glide took a moment to examine it; the iris was a mix of deep purple and pink, and seemed to glow with dark energy. The pupil was slit, resembling a feline's. "... Name your price." He said after a moment, removing his eyepatch.

"The life of one of your friends." The woman replied. "Any one will do."

Glide tossed the eye back into the cauldron. "No deal." He growled, turning and grasping the animal skin hanging from the doorframe.

"You're just like she said you were." The woman murmured.

Glide stopped in his tracks. "What?"

"My little sister." The woman said, lowering the cowl of her robe, revealing a Varixian face strikingly similar to Shetani's.

"Shetani..." Glide breathed. "Then you're-"

The woman nodded. "A goddess, just as she is. Holly, the nature goddess, at your service."

"But, what are you doing on Var?" Glide asked.

Holly shrugged, fishing the eye out of the cauldron again. "I like the place. Well, I like what it was, before Gase and his slavers moved in. Come here."

Glide nodded, moving back to the cauldron. "Don't worry about Gase, I'm already working on getting rid of him."

"I know." Holly grinned. "I see good things in your future, kid. A lot of fistfights. And this!"

Glide yelped, falling backwards as he was tackled by Holly. The nature goddess quickly replaced his eye, putting his eyepatch back on afterwards.

"Our little secret." Holly whispered, standing up and dusting off her robes. "Don't even tell my sister how you got it. Not until this is all over."

"Sure, whatever you say..." Glide muttered, getting up. "Uh, thanks."

"My pleasure." Holly smiled. "There's just one more thing you'll need to do to unlock the power."

Glide rubbed his temples. "Oh man, this won't end well..."

"Quit griping and drink this." Holly said, grabbing a glass from a shelf behind her and handing it to Glide.

Shrugging to himself, Glide took the glass and drank from it, immediately spitting the liquid out. "Sweet Jesus, what the f**k is that s**t!?"

Holly laughed. "It's just something I mixed up when I heard you were on the way. Come on, drink it, it won't kill you."

Glide grimaced, quickly downing what was left of the liquid. "That's f****n' sick..."

"It'll help with your new powers, it's necessary." Holly said. "Now, go give 'em hell, kid. And be careful with that thing; you've got some pretty powerful magic in there."

"I will, don't worry." Glide replied, moving the animal skin out of the way and heading back outside.

"So?" Niqi asked.

"So what?" Glide responded. "We don't have time to sit and chat. Revan, lead the way."

At least she didn't kill him. Shetani thought, snickering softly to herself.

Revan nodded, continuing through the forest, the rest of the group in tow.
