Niqi stared at Shetani, eyes wide. "Er, Glide?" she mumbled.

"She'll come around eventually." Glide muttered. "And don't even ask, I have no idea what's wrong with her."

"I've got a different question," Ambree said, interrupting whatever Niqi was about to say. "Why did you just call him Revan?" she asked, pointing at Ryder.

Glide shrugged. "It's his true name."

Niqi shot Revan a look. "When I asked you to pick another name, I didn't mean you had to lie."

Revan stared down at the ground. "I lie under pressure, it's instinct."

Niqi's eyes softened. "Sorry, kid. Didn't mean to do that to you."

"It's my fault." Revan replied. "If I wasn't trying to rob you guys, you wouldn't've caught me and I wouldn't even be here."

Niqi found herself ruffling Revan's hair. "Don't be so hard on yourself. You're on our side now. Everyone benefits."

Revan grinned. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Anybody know how to wake Shetani up?" Glide asked, tapping the unconscious goddess on the nose a few times. "Where's a neromancer when you need one, we could use some cold water..."

"We could just shake her awake," Niqi suggested.

"Last time I did that, she headbutted me." Glide muttered. "I might as well just slap her a couple times."

"Just get her up, we need to get back to business," Niqi requested.

Glide suddenly began grinning. "I'm gonna shock her a*s." He stated, channeling the goddess' own energy into his palm and proceeding to zap her. His reward was a curse in Vari and a punch in the stomach.

"Welcome back to the world of the living," Niqi greeted her, laughing.

"Who was it that gave him that idea?" Shetani asked, glaring at Glide.

"Not important." Glide stated. "Stand up, put up your hood, and let's find the nearest Varixian clan."

Shetani growled, standing up and raising the cowl of her robe. "You're lucky the boy can understand Vari, or I'd call you something that nobody his age should hear."

"Why'd you faint, anyway?" Ambree asked.

"Because someone decided to play a cruel joke on me." Shetani responded, still glaring at Glide. "You should know better than to speak that name in front of me, you b*****d."

"What joke?" Glide asked. "I said his name. The kid's name is Revan, and that's what I called him."

Shetani's eyes widened. "But, that means... he's..."

"In the dark here." Revan said, raising his paw. "What's going on?"

"I second that," Ambree commented, looking between Shetani and Glide, confused.

"My boy!" Shetani squealed, sweeping Revan into her arms and hugging him tightly.

"My spine..." Revan muttered.

"...Still in the dark," Ambree said, looking even more confused.

Shetani ignored Ambree, her horns tapping against Revan's. "Remember..." She breathed.

Revan was silent for a long moment, staring into Shetani's eyes. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he spoke. "... Mother?"
