This is completely the writing of my friend

"Hey, kid, something's been buggin' the hell outta me for a while now." Glide said. "How old are you, anyway?"

Ryder shrugged. "I turned ten last spring."

"A ten-year-old in exile!?" Shetani yelped. "Sometimes, even I'm sickened by those... imbeciles on Var."

"Don't worry, goddess. Most of us can take care of ourselves by six." Ryder grinned, showing Shetani his talon gloves. "And I stole Kai'ma from the clan leader's son, so it was almost worth it."

Niqi glanced at Glide. "What's Kai'ma mean?"

"'The Infernal Talons'." Glide stated. "Shetani, do me a favor and teach the pup Vari when you get the chance."

Shetani snickered. "I don't know, I think she's learning pretty well without my help."

"What are we doing here, Nar'zun?" Ryder asked, staring at the ruins of Shetani's temple.

"Just follow me." Glide muttered, scurrying up to the top of the pile of stones and beginning to dig through them. "Help me clear away these damn rocks."

Ryder nodded, joining Glide in clearing the stones away.

"And you guys, I'm gonna need your help, too." Glide said. "But not with this. Ryder and I can handle the temple."

"What do you need us to do?" Niqi asked.

Glide shrugged, picking up a large stone and heaving it aside. "Nothin' major. I'm gonna need you to go with Jekka to his father's kingdom on Arctan. Round up as many soldiers as you can."

Niqi raised an eyebrow. "He's the prince. Why does he need me?"

"Because we don't have time to clear all the orders and whatnot with his father, you blithering idiot." Glide growled, tossing another stone from the pile. "Lie to 'em, threaten 'em, I don't care. Just get them here as soon as you can."

"This is gonna be quite a war..." Jekka commented, following Niqi into the Nexus through the door of a nearby building.

"Now, let's move on." Glide said. "Shetani. Take Dham to Hygeia to pick up his weapons."

"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we'll be back soon." Shetani stated, opening a portal to Hygeia and taking Dham through.

Glide threw another stone over his shoulder, then reached down into the ruined temple. "I'd know that hilt anywhere." He grinned. "Engelsmörder is down there. Shouldn't be too long until I get it back. Let's get the rest of the orders out of the way. Felix, go to the Snapdragon on Seisen and grab Lujuria's weapons."

Felix nodded, using the same door Niqi and Jekka had used to get into the Nexus. "I'll leave this door open, in case anyone that doesn't have a key needs to get into the Nexus."

"Thanks." Glide said, moving a few more stones, then snatching up his weapon and its sheath. "Syrinda, go round up your archers."

"As you command." Syrinda responded, bowing. She turned and darted through the Nexus door.

"What about me?" Ambree asked. "And Lujuria?"

Glide shrugged, returning Engelsmörder's sheath to his back and starting to dig again. "I need you two to stay here and watch Ryder. Me and Jericho have something to do back on Saikoro, shouldn't take too long."

Ryder shoved a few stones aside, then reached down and grabbed a small scrap of paper. "Nar'zun, I found something."

Glide took the paper from Ryder, reading what was written on it. "Hm. 'See you on Kahl, you pink'... what the f**k, does that say 'douchebag', or am I hallucinating?"

"That's what it says, Nar'zun." Ryder snickered.

Glide growled quietly, but said nothing, tucking the scrap of paper into his pocket and getting back to digging. After a few moments, he managed to get enough stones out of the way to pull up Deliverance. "Okay, time to take care of our next job, Jericho."

"What will we be doing?" Jericho asked.

Glide smirked. "We're gonna go diving. Ricky, come with us and get Fafnir."

Ricky nodded, following his father and Jericho into the Nexus.

"... Did we just get stuck babysitting Glide's twins and Ryder?" Ambree asked after a moment, glancing at Lujuria.

"I think so..." The selkie replied, sighing quietly.
