Glide's Ten YearsA Chapter by Star CatcherThis is completely the writing of my friend. A summary of Glide's ten years after Yochinai.
“It’s alright…” Glide murmured, holding Felix’s lifeless body close as he opened the door to Saikoro. “You’ll never be hurt again. Sleep now, my prince…” Shetani followed him silently, across the beach and to a small patch of black sand. “Glide…” She finally ventured. “Go.” Glide growled. “I need to do this alone.” Shetani nodded, turning and heading up the beach. Sandy, Davis and Ricky followed, none daring to even glance back. Glide sighed softly, laying Felix’s body in the sand. “You said you’d never leave me hanging.” He said, beginning to dig up the patch of black sand. “What would you call this?” He shook his head. “It wasn’t your fault. Nothing ever was. If I hadn’t come into your life, you’d still be alive…maybe you’d actually be able to see this beautiful planet…” Shetani watched from the shadow of a palm tree, shaking her head slowly. “Poor Glide.” “Why, damnit!?” Glide suddenly roared, his fist sinking into the sand. “Therali! Get down here so I can rape you for this!” He wasn’t surprised when the god of death didn’t show up. Knowing that, this time, there would be no retribution, he set about finishing his task. … Glide finished digging just before sunset. With unsteady paws, he lifted Felix’s lithe form, lowering him into the hole. Before he began filling it in, he reached down, plucking the razors from Felix’s belt. “It’s such a shame…” He murmured, slipping them into his pocket. “They never tasted blood. But I promise you, my love, that soon…they will bathe in red.” Sighing, he filled the hole. … Five years had passed since he had buried Felix, and every day, Glide still felt pain. More than pain; he felt burning anger inside him. At first, Shetani and the boys had tried to comfort him, but it never helped. He began wandering the island, seeking something, anything, that could take away the pain. He found his own sanctuary in the pain of others. Every time he went through a town, he noticed younger males following him around. During the first year, he didn’t pay them any mind, but as the anger began to take over, he took them into his life, using them, then slitting their throats with Felix’s razors when he finished with them. During his fifth year without Felix, he took the brother of a pirate fox. When the pirate learned what Glide did to his brother, he sought revenge, taking Glide’s left eye, but losing his own life in the process. As a trophy, Glide took the pirate’s sash, and the bells that were tied to it. … During the sixth year, Glide put away his weapons, keeping only Magus and Felix’s razors with him. His next trip to town wasn’t for another victim; he was in search of new weapons. After finding a smith capable of forging the weapons he wanted, Glide threatened him until he agreed to do it free of charge. A week later, Glide held a guandao in his right paw, the weapon a foot taller than he was, weighing over two hundred pounds. In his left, he gripped the hilt of a dao with a serrated, three-foot-long blade. “Deliverance…” He breathed, raising the guandao, turning his gaze to the dao. “And Engelsmörder, the murderer of angels…” … “Ten years.” Glide said to himself, flicking Felix’s razor closed and kicking the corpse of his latest fucktoy out his bed. “Worthless little creature.” He muttered, glaring down at what was once a young male rat. He put his pants back on, grabbed the rat by the tail, and dragged him out to the beach, where a wooden raft was already waiting. He tossed the rat onto the raft and shoved it into the water, pausing for a moment before pitching a fireball at it, setting it ablaze. “Hey, dad!” Ricky called, rushing over and pushing a letter into Glide’s paws. “It’s from Lujuria.” Glide didn’t respond, only taking the letter and looking it over. ‘Something horrible has happened. Come to the Snapdragon tomorrow, as soon as you can. Lu.’ Whatever. It’s better than staying here. “Shetani, we’re going to the Snapdragon tomorrow!” He yelled toward the house. “What about us?” Ricky asked. Glide shook his head. “You and your brothers are staying here. I’ll come get you if anything happens.” © 2008 Star Catcher |
