A vampire bat came flapping in from the night, face all covered in
fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some
sleep.
Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood & began hassling
him
about where he got it. He told them to p!ss off & let him get some
sleep, but they persisted until he finally gave in.
"OK, follow me", he said & flew out of the cave with hundreds of
excited
bats behind him.
Down through a valley they went, across a river & into a huge
forest.
Finally he slowed down & all the other bats excitedly milled
around him, tongues hanging out for blood. "Do you see that
large oak tree over there?" he asked.
"YES, YES, YES!!!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.
"Good for you!" said the bat, "Because I f*cking didn't."
That's a good joke. I shall try this out on friends.
Let me introduce myself Stacy, I'm Matt. I've been here for a while but left to consider my approach to writing. Now I'm studying writing full time, after giving up a career that took around Europe and America. i have come back to the site because I think it's a really useful tool to help my personal development. I'm telling you this so you know that I'm pretty keen to advance and help others do the same. I don't use the review request mechanism for simple reasons. It fills up with lots of stuff I have no intention of reading. I like to be spontaneous and read other, unknown writers works, hence me coming across you.
If this happened to be a longer story, I would have definitely given you an in depth, line by line review. As it is, I'm not sure you need that so I figured an introduction might be a better use of this 'collision' as I like to call them.
My work is only just beginning to take of. In the past and until recently, I had this kind of fog in my mind about why I write. That's slowly lifting so I'm letting as many people know as possible that I use other peoples work as training, so that I can spot irregular English, weaknesses etc, or indeed things that work - strengths. I prefer to aim my attention at those that want it. So, if you like my work, or even if you don't but review and point out mistakes, or bits you dislike, I'd very much appreciate it and always, providing it is useful, return reviews - but do always, regardless of the type of review, say thank you. Some people have different agenda's, I understand that.
I'll read another so that I have reviewed you and then I must get back to work on the Myth of Medusa.
