Insatiable Lullaby

Insatiable Lullaby

A Poem by Stacie Dayton

Haunting. This beautiful disaster calls me softly. Reflecting all my honest mistakes. I am screaming to myself holding on to all my pain. The liar in my eyes has an outstretched hand.

Where were you? Where were you?

Falling holding onto nothing
Crying to the darkened night
Standing on the edge of nowhere
Ready to jump withing my silence
I'm losing myself to this
Insatiable Lullaby

Unbreakable. The eyes that tell a made up story. Infallible. Bitter sweet perfection outside. Consuming all I know within my disbelief. The consequences of abandoned hope riding high inside of me. Idealistic salvation lies only in the shattered silence. Close those eyes to break away dear child.

But I hear everything...
I hear them.
I hear you.
I hear my desire.
Insatiable Lullaby.

"Insatiable Lullaby" is SUCH a wonderful title, I really love it. What I like most about this poem is how you convey these incredible emotions, deep, raw, real...yet you leave it in a way so that I could read this and interpret it in another way than the next reader. It could mean something completely different to me than someone else, and I believe that is the mark of a truly great writer. Wonderful writing, *throws roses*

A amazing poem. You create a new meaning for the word lullaby. The words were soft and held a powerful meaning.

Thank you for a outstanding poem.
