Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender

A Poem by Stacie Dayton

There is a message in the solace of a smile.

The binding contract that says I won.

See I've found my way through the hardships; the mazes of lies.

I have battles the countless demons, most of which you created.

You watched as I endured my tortures; made the beds for me to lie.

But now I am here before you, unsheathing my own flawless weapon.

You see, I too know how to fight, how to play the games with deep rooted rule.

You may have taken my life in the perils, but within my masquerade you have yet to even touch me.
