Love

Love

A Poem by Squirrel

Inexperienced I am in love
For I have never been,
Except for once
And now in my narcissistic view

I can tell of it so clearly
And claim it to be
A thing that holds no lusting desire
But one of prowess

It hold a desire to praise
And be praised
It is scared despite its prowess
And hates to be quelled

It desires only to give
To help and to heed
With laughter and tears
But mostly laughter

Sparked by a mere trick
Of light and words
It consumes you
A heated glow that becomes you

Yet it is but a spark
A small flash of energy
One that cannot be taken back
Lingering there forever
