It's Who I Am

I have never claimed to be normal. Maby slightly eccentric, yes. Slightly crazy, possiblity.

After all, normal is just a cycle on the wash machine.

I have never claimed to be normal.

Would a normal person believe in things that go bump in the night.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For i believe in ET, aliens and life on other planets.

I have never claimed to be normal.

I also believe in Angels, Guardians, Fairies, and Higher Power.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For i attend science fiction conventions and spiritual gatherings.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For my favorite flower is the Daisy and my favorite tree is the Magnolia.

I have never claimed to be normal.

I'd rather read a paranormal romance book, than watch grown men tacklin each other over a ball.

I have never claimed to be normal.

I'd rather be writing, working on a story, than watch some stupid tv show.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For i like my independence more than being with someone, who doesn't appreciate me.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For i would rather go see a movie alone, than go with someone who will talk all thru the movie.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For i will admit to having been in therapy.

I have never claimed to be normal.

For I am a work in progress.

The end.

Normality...something we think is preferred based on...based on something other than normal expectations.

And it is accurately a mix of 'other than normal' wishes and hopes and dreams.

Very nicely done...!

Well, you see, a good question to ask yourself is, "What is normal?" Normal is so many different things. There is a normal for everyone, and for you this (referring to what your saying in the poem) is your normal. The poem itself was well written and enjoyable, but perhaps maybe you should think about what you were REALLY trying to say. I think you were just trying to say that you were different from everyone else, and you don't fall into stereotypes like most do. You weren't trying to say that you were normal because "normal" doesn't exist.
