VOICES OF THE NIGHT

VOICES OF THE NIGHT

A Poem by Susan

Just stating what i was hearing listening to a storm passing by..

VOICES OF THE NIGHT

THunder rumbles across the night sky.

 Crickets sing their evening song.

A lone guitarist strums a haunting tune.

An occasional car drives by, horn blaring.

Cicadas play the cool air.

A gentle breeze sways thru the tree to tops.

As the storm continues rumbling thru the night.

Voices carry across the xeroscape land.

Lights flicker on, then off, then on again.

As darkness rolls across the evening sky.

Thoughts of others spoken out loud of the night creatures being out.

Voices carry thru the stormy night.

Voices carry thru the night.

Voices of the night.

I always find my senses more alive during a storm and it really motivates us to write, nature is a wonderful muse, and you have captured it so well here.. great write !

I could hear haunting voices resonating through the still darkness..consuming imagery sets the readers
hearts adift.. into a magical environment .. a pianting of emotions being reflected in your words set forth
with a delicate framework of emotional detail metaphorically defining what it means tosteal the moment
away from God's own hand. by way of classicness- such imaginative creativity comes comes to life like
nature enchanted by the rain.. thunderstorms implying soul...beautiful and a pleasure to read.

Enjoyed this too!! Takes me back to a night I spend within a pick-nick covered area 27 years ago; in Kansas perhaps? That night we were gong to sleep out in our sleeping bags but, when the storm rolled in; we moved under the roofing and slept upon the tables once we'd finished watching the storm's lightening show. Good write!! Thanks for sharing!!
