Storm

Storm

A Poem by Susan
"

something written on impulse during a storm.

"

STORM

Dark clouds driven across the sky.

As if being chased by some unseen god.

THunder rumbling loudly as it moves across the landscape.

Lightening following close behind, lighting up the darkened sky.
Rain coming down in torrents, flooding streets and arroyos.

Animals & people scatter for shelter from the onslaught.

Cars jamming as they drive thru flooded areas.

Winds blowing trees branches downward.

Dry ground soaking up the wetness, becoming drenched.

Doors slamming closed as people run in from the torrential rains.

Rain so hard, it becomes a wall, almost unpenetrable.

Desert landscape changing its colors, becoming vivid.

Traffic comes to a standstill, as roads become overwhelmed by flooding.

Arroyos taking in so much, before they over flow their banks.

Sending the waters in to neighborhood backyards and streets.

Sewer pipes cloggin up with rubbage that people through out.

Rain.

Storm.

Thunder.

LIghtening.

Rainbow.

the end.

dark clouds driven across the sky as if being chased by some unseen God" ..Susan, your work
is well crafted and devised with passion threading the seams, you capture the magic of being

expressed in thunderstorms, defining with intricately subtle detail the scenery comes to life, the
reader sees the animals, the people scattering, seeking shelter from the rain, as rain transforms

everything around, greens become greener, and the environment gets a refreshing drink of water.
you did a really nice job of convincing the scenery, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, thanks

Very good for an impulse write. The imagery is very vivid. I loved especially "Rain so hard, it becomes a wall, imprenetrable." Reminded my if wathcing the storms roll in over Yellowstone. Nice job!
