Lingering and lost presence

Lingering and lost presence

A Poem by Talesha

 I know what it is,
To not go to bed alone.
To not feel sad in the darkness,
I know what it is to feel wanted,
To be kissed,loved and touched.

I know what it means to have a good night,
To be warm next to each other,
After a bad fight.
I know these feelings of happiness,
For at once,you did care.

But it is back to not knowing.
I do not know what it feels like,
Cause you are not here.
How there's no arms for me to hug,
No eyes to stare,no lips to kiss.
No one to kiss my ear.

No one to caress me,to love.
To touch and play with my hair.
But I hug my pillow in the darkness and I stare.
Reminsce  on how you were mine,
How I changed this year.
How I love you with my heart,
Happiest dreamy moments I swear!

But now I lay down without you,
Mind and heart dreaming of you.
Reinforcing my feelings,
That something was real.
Some lovely feelings were true.
