Denial

Denial

A Poem by Talesha

Summer is long gone,
And you are you.
I think of all the good times,
Can't face the sad truth.

It's like can't erase,
Cannot accept,
We were a season,
The love was just a phase.

I can laugh and pretend,
But I miss my lover,
I miss my best friend.
The emptiness doesn't leave.

How cruel,typical man to deceive,
Every word,naively I believed.
Tell me what I have now,
To not fear to die, your kiss? Or your smile?

Silence is the enemy,
At night your face I see,
Failing to see we can't me,
It was always her and never me.

But you have my heart,
You are in my thoughts,
I have happiness, but then it retorts

It's like can't erase,

Romantic love is fickle for sure but this poem has lasting grace.
