Plain JaneA Poem by TaleshaLying alone on the bed, Silent thoughts plagues her head. The hot, steamy air, On the surface, her suffocating fears. She lived in that zone of doom Her comfort zone of life-her room. She sits, wonders how she became so alone. Never been kissed, rejected, At her-they hissed. But she was so beautiful, She pursed her lips and sighed, Closed her eyes and began to cry. No job,no career. Dreamed of a good life, The more comfortable, she'd stare. She had goals, she was once even a bit brave, Inferiority and fear of failure-in her mind engraved, Born-again Christian, only thing that made her safe. Life was passing,so she felt-So much too do, So little means. All she could do was imagine, Hence she called them her dreams. So much she desired to change, The mere powerlessness made her deranged. She turned, twisted in bed that night, Promised herself, for a better life she she'd fight. It was the same cycle everyday, No actions, talk about it,all she'd say. That girl, forever in her zone, She hope and prayed, She'll accumulate the strength- To leave it one day.
