My Life

My Life

A Poem by Unmeshed

There's a time pendulum swinging in my mind. It shouts at me like a dinging with no remorse for the grind. It goes backwards and preys on lost loves. It sways forward and reaches like a crow instead of white doves.

Behind it lays a road of one direction. No choices that look like the Devil's path to heaven. I lift it up trying to find a new way. One of my own that nobody could sway. But it fills with pot holes of mud that twist and turn. Watch out, Watch out, because it only burns.

Trial and error that only looks worse. I learn the hard way, but it feels like a curse. I want to be hopeful and jump over the edge. I run through as the pendulum swings to the opposite ledge.

I look in front of it with both pain and grace in my eyes. I see nothing and turn to all out and out cries. The fear of the future looking bleaker than bleak. Only that crow with that horrible squeak. Maybe there's a good road I'll find over here. Maybe my searching will somehow persevere. The darkness grows thicker and I can't see a thing. Dear God in heaven shine a light on my bling.
