Self-reflection

Self-reflection

A Poem by Hallow

There's an angel and a devil
They live by my neck.
If I need their advice
It's hardly a long trek.

The angel can point out
The sun and the fresh blooms.
The angel says to rejoice
Have no fear, have no gloom!

But then here is the devil
With its sardonic chuckle.
There's a whip and a breeze
That makes my knees buckle.

It's hard to ignore the bicker,
Of the angel and the devil.
They both want my soul,
And neither one will level.

What is wrong with me?
That they fight day and night?
Why can't they call peace?
And dissolve this dumb fight?

It's all just metaphors
For the voices, y'know?
The ones people don't believe.
The ones I don't show.

There's no angel or devil
That ruins me and my life.
No, it's just little old me
And all my dumb strife.
