We Don't Know

We Don't Know

A Poem by Hallow

Shadow people, shadow people
Where are you at?
Under my bed?
In the closet?
With a bat?

Wispy figures, wispy figures
Why are you there?
A past reminder?
What's to come?
What's to bear?

Grey ghosts, grey ghosts
When will you leave?
Next month, next week?
In a moment?
Weight to heave.

Restless spirits, restless spirits
Reckon me to the bridge.
Hold my hand to guide
Into the darkness
Past the ridge.
