Beguile

Beguile

A Poem by Hallow

Just what I wanted
A knight from the void.
Acting so sweet,
Pretend to be coy.

Hold me so close,
And brush back my hair.
Quick words and wits,
Love really did dare.

Slumber no more,
Rise heat of the fire.
He was a fraud
Sent just to conspire.

Chrysalis room
I shut out the light.
Pretend he's not there,
That white shining knight.

Growth can be bad,
Descend in the dark.
A lightless path,
Only claws for marks.

He was a knight,
A siren, I now am.
Under my spell,
And a selfish plan.

As my words say
Your downfall, I'll be.
Don't trust my voice.
Dragged in the sea.

You gave your heart,
I gave you the cold.
Wrap you in waves
To the depths, untold.

This was incredible. It felt like it could be a walk through a life as well as a relationship. So much meaning in these poetic words and what is said beyond the lines. Bravo! Thanks for sharing.
