Broom

Broom

A Poem by Leon Agnew
"

Pun.

"
Let go of me
Mortal claw
I gave you my heart
I gave you my all
Together we jumped
Over the broom
You found me to be
A useful groom
My blood was spilled
For your veins
My mind was despaired
By your pains
Yet every ounce
Of humble care
Couldn't make us balanced
Or full, or fair
So take your broom
And put it away
We'll have to re-wed
On a sunnier day
Around you, I fear
You have influenced
The rain to come
In dreadful torrents
