"

rebirth in the written word

"

Has it all been said before in the course
of a hundred dead poets?
Do I know it as my own?
plant a seed
from an incest tree
Am I echoing a story written in recylced ink
a thousand times a million miles wide
over someone elses life?
There’s a free word
in the salvation store
hidden in an alley way along the shore
where the masses gather
starving artists on a platter
cardboard signs line the aftermath
“Food fer thot”
Taste expired word rot
Is it all for not?
(Paste and copy response)
regurgitate and flaws
I'll find my flavor
eat my mind and savor
juicy vocal chords
ash to phoenix words
my rebirth

It's an interesting question and probably we are not the first ones to write of the things we write but I think it's not always what you say but how you say it that differs. I have sat in a room with poets and all written a poem on the same theme and they all came out very different and I'm sure we each found different things in each poem. It all depends on where you are in life at that time etc doesnt it? So write on and fear not. Your words have a place and have value. Nice free fall of words. I love when it just flows :)

The first six lines are a succinct synopsis of the question anyone who writes ask themselves everytime. At turns cleverly flip and deadly serious, this is a nicely-paced and well-executed piece of work.
