Sir Sleeps-No-More

Sir Sleeps-No-More

A Poem by Spoken
"

an insomnia inspired piece...

"

I look at the mocking clock
An hour in a minute?
Touché time!
I wield my sword and sit
In blank stare
You can’t penetrate my shield
If I stop your weapon:
Racing thoughts.
One, two… eight?
You cheat!
Oh you sneaky enemy!
I have more to this defense
I unleash my beastly mind
Cramming a ‘once upon a time’
into a seconds glance
This will slow your advance
I jerk from this merciless reverie
the beep.. beep.. of defeat
My alarm, another knight I wrangle
My fare lady sleep
Maybe at next dimming light
We will join in sweet embrace
And hold each other through the night
Slaying King Time
And his callous ways
