A Mask of the MoonA Chapter by LinzeyThe Second of three poems that are to create an offsetting to the story of poems. This one depicts the mask in the main picture. Its edges curve around the face with its utmost beauty
Hiding what should be seen Uncovering what bears no meaning When the light hits its corners The shadows created hold the nightmares and dreams of all it has seen
It can show the red, the pain, the sorrow
It can show the pleasure and passion that used to live in the hearts of its victims
It holds a power so great only one can control it
To a degree that is
He uses the power for his own pleasures
For his own feelings
He wants to feel what he takes from others
For if he could never feel it
Why should others?
When the mask is laying on the table it can show its strength
An aura radiating to the point that most can not look
Most back down in fear
Crying and sobbing
Knowing what's to come if they cross it
Never fear what can not truly hurt you
For if you do your life will be nothing
Just what the mask wants to do to you
If you show no courage
It will overtake you
Let it overtake you
Maybe then you'll be better off
For after that he can not get you
Instead he'll already have you...
