The Mask

The Mask

A Poem by Linzey
"

For the Phoenix this year :D want some critiques to help me shape the piece better. i feel it might need some work. Plus a little birdy told me the one with the little key should win... ur thoughts?

"
Everyday the mask lowers
Showing only what you want to see
No one ever knowing how to make it shatter... or that it's even there
No one can make it crack
Only when she's alone does it ever come off
Taking every hit from the day all at once
Crumbling to the ground, crying
Unable to take it anymore
Although, maybe the mask isn't as tough as it seems
Will it finally shatter?
But who will be the one to do it?
One holds a hammer
Another a little key
The third holds a golden heart that melts all worries and the coldest of stones
Which one is right?
Who will take away the pain?
Who...
Who...
