Chapter Two: Marriage

At supper, I sit and eat toadstool and human soup. I sigh in disgust. Mother looks at me and stares. “What Soto? Upset because your perfect life is ruined, huh?” she says sarcastically. I scoff and roll my eyes “Mother my life isn’t perfect. Why are we eating humans?! It’s wrong and disgusting.” Mother gasps dramatically. “How dare you!” We are eating this in memory of your father! Not just because you like it or not like it!” I sit and eat. Ipollo then just suddenly pops in and stares at me. I look at him. “What is it, Ipollo?” “There... Are guests… At the door…” I look at Mother “Who did you invite?” “Nobody son..” I'm shocked. Who the hell is here?! I stand up and start walking towards the door Ipollo follows. “Son?!” My mother calls out. I turn towards her. “I’ll be back.”
