Grandma

Grandma

A Poem by Shar

Grandma,
Do you remember?
all the times i couldn't sleep?
and we would be up all night doing puzzles
and watching tv
The time you spent smiling at me
always telling me a story
Our walk in the cemetery
Hand in hand As we visited our lost loved ones
 Do you remember?
The time you forgot me
Your eyes vacant
As if there wasn’t a sight to be seen
 I remember
Watching Alzheimer’s take you
Day by day
i couldn't help but cry because i still needed you
it has never hurt me so much that i can't just
talk to you about whats going on
you are an angel, i wish you was here
i still need you when things go wrong . .
It’s hard to explain,
the pain I now feel
i miss you so much
i feel alone
But remember that you love was enough
Since you are not here,
it just doesn’t seem real.
but i am still taking it day by day
