Hourglass

I was feeling things and attempted to put those emotions into words.

One of these days I need to just stop and cry

       Because there’s a lot inside me and

              When it’s about to overflow

                 I should pour some out.

                   Sadness mixes with

                          Happiness,

                            Memory,

                              Love,

                              Hope

                            Dreams

                         Future plans

                     Become present

                    Actions and in the                                               Blink

                   Of an eye all of it is

                  Gone, Beyond reach,

                Now only some illusions

              Captured by a false eye or

          Real ones that distort the reality

That I once held in my heart and mind with joy.

Author's Note

You know, looking back at it, the poem fits more in the shape of a pedestal. Oh well. This is my first poem on here. I was going for a shape poem. Any thoughts are appreciated even though poetry isn't really my thing. 0
