Amazing Friends

Amazing Friends

A Chapter by Keirsten

Wow, I thought as I sat on the warm California beach. The sunset is beautiful with reds, oranges, and yellows. Justin was sitting next to me. He's my best friend. "So are you ready for school to start yet Lacie?" he asked. "Kinda, you?” I replied. "Nah, not really." he said as he got up and started walking towards the ocean. I did the same. "Betcha can't wait to see Casey again, huh?" I asked jokingly. Casey was Justin's huge crush last year. He claims that he doesn't like her anymore, but I think he does.

"Ha ha. Very funny." he replied. "So are you actually going to ask her out this year?" "Uh no. I told you before Lace I don't like her anymore.” he said seriously. Then he quickly changed the subject and said, "So how is your surfing coming a long?" "It's going really well. I finally rode a wave into shore without falling." We both laughed. "That's awesome. It's just because you have my brother as a surfing teacher."
Justin's brother is twenty-five years old. They look almost exactly a-like. Meaning the same curly brown hair and baby blue eyes, the dark tan, and the fit body. They are both about 6'l, which is taller, then my 5'8. His name is Alex. I'd say the biggest difference between them is that Justin has more of a baby face. Alex is more serious. But, he's really nice when he's not teaching me how to surf.

"Yeah, your brother is a pretty cool teacher." I said back as we let the smooth waves crash on our feet. Then I thought I heard someone behind me so I turned around to find my other best friend, Kelsey, trying to scare me. That must have been why Justin was smiling so much. She snapped her fingers and said “Aww. Your no fun." We all laughed.

"So what brings you down to the beach?" Justin asked. "Well, I went to Lacie's house to find Lacie’s mom… who said that Lacie headed down to the beach and I thought that she was probably trying to keep Justin from drooling over Casey,” Justin glared at Kelsey and I giggled. "So I wanted to chill with my best friends. Is that a crime?" she explained. "Nope, not at all,” I said. "So why are you two down at the beach alone? Huh?!" she said suspiciously. "Well we were gathering seashells… to make you a necklace for you birthday." I fibbed. "Yeah, sure you were", she laughed.

"So , Kelsey, how does it feel to have you birthday on the first day of school?" Justin laughed. "Well, Justin" she paused as if she were going to school him and put her hands on her hips. She dropped her arms and said, "It really sucks!" then stuck her tongue out. Justin and I started laughing. "Stop laughing guys it's not funny!" she whined. "I think it is, but I have to get home. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I said. "Do you want me or Kels to walk with you?" Justin offered. "Nah, I'm good. Hey we are still in for surfing after lunch tomorrow right?” I replied. Justin quickly answered, "Oh yeah! I forgot, but i will defiantly be there." He smiled. "You still in Kels?" "Duh" she assured us. "Well see you later," I said as I walked away.

Kelsey and I have known each other since pre-school. She has long straight brown hair and green eyes. She's not preppy, but she's not major tom boy either. She is about 5'7. Some people say that we look like twins. We are both 16 years old, but that will change on August 15th. That’s Kelsey's birthday. Mine is on September 17th. Justin is already 17. Kelsey and I both like the same things including music, clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Oh and boys ha. We share almost everything except for boyfriends. She practically lives at my house. Nine out of ten times she is there. Plus my mom, Elizabeth(Lizzy), loves her to death.

This looks like a nice start. It teases out relationships, makes you want to know more about them and the characters backing them.

I look forward to reading more soon!
